Habitat Project

A BIWC Habitat project located southwest of the Johnny Martin Gravel Pit. The work continues that of earlier efforts to reestablish early successional forests through aspen regeneration. There are approximately 39 acres in the stands we have been “permitted” to work on by the MDNR. The areas are now marked, with access reopened to the stands and a few acres have been cut. We look forward to making good progress on this project next winter.
